Government and repatriation flights

Flights for state authorities are judged on preparation.

On the day there is no room to improvise.

The route, the aircraft, the crew briefing, the ground arrangements at both ends and the security concept are settled long before it.

What we arrange

Three categories, one way of preparing them.

Repatriation and escorted returnsPlanned with the escort requirement, the seating and the sequence on the ground agreed in advance.
Delegation and official travelFor ministries, authorities and international organisations, with protocol requirements built into the plan.
Relief and personnel movementsFor public bodies moving staff or aid at short notice into difficult destinations.
How these operations are run

A documented plan, not a booking.

  1. 01 A single point of coordination Between your authority, the operator and both airports, so nothing is passed between desks.
  2. 02 Operators selected for this category On their experience with this kind of flight, not only on price.
  3. 03 A written sequence for the ground Covering escort requirements, seating and the crew briefing, agreed before the day.
  4. 04 Contingencies named in advance For delay, and for refusal at the destination, with the alternative already identified.
  5. 05 Permits and clearances tracked Diplomatic and overflight clearances confirmed rather than assumed.

Compliance

These flights are carried out within the legal framework set by the commissioning authority and the states concerned. We arrange the aircraft, the operator and the logistics. The legal basis for the movement is yours.

Movements are discussed only with your authorised contacts.

Nothing about these operations appears in our marketing, and we do not confirm them to third parties.

Experience and continuity

Roger Hohl has arranged repatriation flights for several European states, from his time at the Austrian carrier InterSky onward. This is not a category that was added to a list because it looked useful.

Authorities rarely fly once. Where an operation repeats, the plan, the operator assessment and the ground sequence stay on file with us, so the second movement starts from the first rather than from a blank page.

What we need to plan

The questions we ask before the first quote.

Where an answer is not yet available we plan against the worst case rather than the convenient one, and we say which assumption the plan rests on.

Briefing
Category and legal basis Which operators may be approached at all, and which permits will be required.
Numbers and escort ratio Aircraft type, seating layout and the crew briefing.
Destination and acceptance Whether the arrival is agreed, and what the alternative is if it is refused.
Timing window Slot strategy at both ends, and whether crew duty time holds without an extension.
Security requirements Ground sequence, handling arrangements and which facilities can be used.
Questions we are asked

From commissioning authorities.

How far in advance do these operations need to be planned?

As far as the mandate allows. Preparation is the whole value of this category of flight, and the parts that take time, namely permits, diplomatic clearances and destination acceptance, are the parts that cannot be accelerated on the day.

Do you confirm these flights to anyone?

No. Movements are discussed only with your authorised contacts, nothing appears in our marketing, and we do not confirm an operation to third parties, including to media enquiries.

Who is responsible for the legal basis of the movement?

You are. We arrange the aircraft, the operator and the logistics within the legal framework set by the commissioning authority and the states concerned. We do not advise on whether a movement is lawful and we do not take that decision.

What happens if the destination refuses the arrival?

The contingency is agreed before departure, with the alternative airport, the fuel plan and the crew duty position already worked out. It is part of the written plan rather than a call made in the air.

Can you work to a framework agreement?

Yes. Where an operation repeats, the plan, the operator assessment and the ground sequence stay on file, so the second movement starts from the first. Contact us with the procurement route you are required to follow.

One point of coordination.

From planning to handover. Tell us the category, the numbers and the destination.
